Questions climbers ask

I've already changed my eating, why do I need more?

Because the fade is real: most people who transform their food see results erode within a year when support ends. The Peak builds the life around the food, sleep, stress, people, purpose, and teaches you maintenance as a skill, on purpose.

What are the eight dimensions?

A whole-life wellness model developed by Dr. Peggy Swarbrick and used by SAMHSA, spanning your body, your mind and emotions, your relationships, your sense of purpose, your growth and learning, your surroundings, and your work. You rate each honestly, then we spend a focused week on each, weighted toward YOUR priorities.

Is this therapy?

No, it is coaching: practical habits, structures and plans. Where something deserves more support (persistent low mood, trauma, or anything that calls for a licensed professional), I say so plainly and help you add the right person to your rope team.

What is the Summit Traverse?

The Peak's version of the elevation game: eight peaks, one per wellness dimension, each claimed by completing its focus week. You colour them in on your traverse map, and the final flag is Peak Health.

Do I have to have done the other programs?

Most Peak climbers arrive via Base Camp and The Lookout, but it is not mandatory, if your eating is already handled and sustainable, the free call places you correctly.

What is the relapse-prevention week?

The most valuable week of the program: we mine months of your own data for YOUR three risk situations, name your early-warning signs, and rehearse your recovery move, so a slip years from now never becomes a slide.

What happens when it ends?

You graduate with a one-page Personal Wellness Plan, a weekly 15-minute self-review habit, and your completed Summit Book. Finish all three programs and you are a Mountaineer, with the hardcover book to prove it.

Before you enrol, a word about medications

Changing how you eat can interact with some medications and health conditions, including insulin, sulfonylureas such as gliclazide or glyburide, SGLT2 inhibitors such as Jardiance or Forxiga, and conditions including type 1 diabetes, kidney or liver disease, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and a history of disordered eating.

I am a coach, not a medical professional, and I do not provide medical or medication screening or clearance. If any of that applies to you, please speak with your doctor or pharmacist before enrolling. Only your prescriber should ever adjust your medication. Coaching supports the changes you and your healthcare team decide are right for you.
